CelebDonation collaborates with public figures and other partners to create awareness of charitable causes. A public figure may choose the cause they wish to support and may donate a personal item, experience or other prize in connection with a campaign.
Unless otherwise expressly stated for a specific campaign, fundraisers on the Platform are conducted and administered by Donationstarter.

Donationstarter conducts fundraisers in accordance with the permits granted by the Danish Fundraising Board (Indsamlingsnævnet). The specific cause supported by a campaign always appears on the campaign page.
A donation is a voluntary financial contribution to the cause stated for the campaign. Before a donation is completed, it will be clear which cause the donation supports. Donations are handled and applied in accordance with the relevant fundraising permit and applicable Danish law.
Costs and expenses that may lawfully be covered by collected funds are handled and disclosed in accordance with applicable rules and the relevant fundraising permit.
Donations and any payments can be made using the payment methods offered on the Platform at any given time. Payments are processed securely by third-party payment providers; Donationstarter does not store full card details.
A receipt for your donation or payment is sent to the e-mail address you provide. Donationstarter holds and administers collected funds in accordance with the rules applicable to the relevant fundraiser.
The public figure featured in a campaign helps create awareness of the fundraiser, may have chosen the cause, may promote the campaign on their own channels, and may donate the prize.
The public figure's participation and promotion does not in itself mean that the public figure is legally or administratively responsible for the fundraiser. Unless otherwise expressly stated, the public figure does not receive or administer the funds raised. The fundraiser is conducted and administered by Donationstarter.
A campaign may include a competition. The specific competition terms appear on the individual campaign page and must be read together with these general terms. They may include information on who can participate, age and geographic restrictions, the campaign period, how to participate, free participation, questions or other requirements, the prize, how the winner is selected, and delivery of the prize.
If there is a difference between these general terms and the specific competition terms for a campaign, the specific competition terms take precedence for that campaign.
Where a competition offers free participation, the method of free participation is clearly stated on the campaign page. A donation is not a condition of participation, unless otherwise lawfully and expressly stated in the campaign terms. Participation via the free route is free of charge.
Where a competition is arranged with free participation independent of donations, the size of a donation does not in itself improve the chance of being selected. The specific rules for participation and selection always appear in the individual competition terms.
A competition may include a question, a task or another skill element. The individual campaign will state how the answer forms part of the competition and how the winner is selected. Donationstarter may reject answers submitted after the competition has closed, or which are incomplete or otherwise do not meet the published competition terms.
Donationstarter may also run campaigns as charitable lotteries where Donationstarter holds the required licence. Such campaigns are separately marked and are conducted under the rules and conditions applicable to the specific lottery licence, which may differ from the rules for free competitions.
Participation requirements, including minimum age and geographic scope, appear in the specific competition terms. Where a participant is a minor, participation and/or receipt of the prize may be conditional on parental or guardian consent.
The following cannot participate: employees of Donationstarter; persons directly involved in administering or conducting the competition; the public figure featured in the campaign and their official representatives; and members of the immediate family or household of any of the above.
The prize, including a description and its approximate value, appears on the specific campaign page. Prizes may include signed or matchworn items, sports equipment, memorabilia, meetings, experiences or other goods and services.
If a prize is used, personal, unique or has been worn or used by the public figure, it may show ordinary signs of use. Such characteristics are not defects when they naturally follow from the nature of the prize.
A prize cannot, as a general rule, be exchanged for cash or another prize unless otherwise stated for the specific campaign. Donationstarter may substitute a prize with one of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our reasonable control make this necessary. If a prize cannot be delivered and no suitable substitute is available, the campaign's specific terms and applicable rules determine the further process.
The method for selecting the winner, when the selection takes place, and who conducts it appear in the specific competition or lottery terms. Unless otherwise stated, the selection is conducted by Donationstarter. If chance forms part of the selection, this will be clearly stated in the campaign's specific terms.
The winner is contacted via the contact details provided. Donationstarter may ask the winner to verify their identity and eligibility before the prize is handed over. If the winner does not respond within the deadline stated in the specific competition terms, the right to the prize may lapse and a new winner may be selected using the same method, where this is consistent with the terms and applicable rules.
Donationstarter may publish limited information about the winner (for example first name and city) on the Platform and/or social media where there is a lawful basis to do so. Any further use of images, video, statements or other material featuring the winner takes place only on a relevant lawful basis and, where required, by separate agreement or consent.
Prizes are delivered or shipped as described on the campaign page. For physical prizes, the winner may be asked to provide a delivery address.
Unless otherwise stated on the campaign page, Donationstarter covers standard shipping within The EU. Any customs duties, import VAT or similar charges in the winner's country are borne by the winner, unless otherwise expressly stated.
For experiences, the practical details are agreed with the winner; unless otherwise stated, transport, accommodation and other personal costs are not included. If a prize includes a personal meeting or other experience, it may depend on the public figure's calendar, professional commitments or other circumstances beyond Donationstarter's reasonable control. In such cases we will work with the winner and the relevant parties to find a suitable date.
Prizes may be subject to Danish prize duty (gevinstafgift) or taxation. Where Donationstarter is legally obliged to declare or pay prize duty in connection with a campaign, Donationstarter will do so. Unless otherwise stated on the campaign page, winners are themselves responsible for any personal tax consequences of receiving a prize.
Donations are voluntary contributions to a charitable cause, not payments for goods or services, and are as a general rule final.
If a prize arrives damaged or is significantly not as described, please contact us within a reasonable time with supporting documentation. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumers have under mandatory Danish law.
Donationstarter may exclude a participant where there are reasonable grounds to believe that the participant has attempted to manipulate a competition, used automated systems or false identities, provided incorrect information, attempted to circumvent participation limits, or otherwise materially breached the competition terms. Exclusion takes place on an objective basis and in accordance with applicable law.
Donationstarter may change, suspend or cancel a campaign where this becomes necessary due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, technical issues, regulatory requirements, changes in law, fraud, security issues or other material circumstances. We will inform participants of material changes where possible.
A change or cancellation does not in itself change the purpose of donations already received, unless this follows from law or a decision by the relevant authority. Any refunds in connection with a cancelled campaign are handled in accordance with applicable rules and the relevant fundraising permit.
Campaigns may be promoted on social platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or YouTube. Unless expressly stated, competitions and campaigns on CelebDonation are not sponsored, administered or endorsed by those platforms.
Donationstarter processes personal data in connection with donations, competitions, lotteries, payments and contact with participants, in accordance with applicable data protection law. Further information is available in our Privacy Policy. Participation in a competition or making a donation does not in itself constitute consent to receive electronic marketing; where such consent is required, it is obtained separately.
Donationstarter keeps accounts of fundraisers in accordance with applicable rules and the permits granted by the Danish Fundraising Board. Where the law requires publication of fundraising accounts, they will be made available on the Platform.
Donationstarter only conducts activities requiring a permit when the necessary permit has been granted. Information about relevant permits from, among others, the Danish Fundraising Board and the Danish Gambling Authority may be published on the Platform. A permit or labelling scheme is not an endorsement of Donationstarter, CelebDonation, a specific public figure or a specific campaign beyond what follows from the specific permit.
Donationstarter is liable in accordance with the general rules of Danish law. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumers have under mandatory Danish law. Donationstarter is not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including failures of couriers or technical systems operated by third parties, to the extent this follows from applicable law.
Donationstarter may update these general terms where necessary due to changes in the Platform, the law, regulatory requirements or Donationstarter's activities. The current version, with the date of the latest update, is always available on the Platform.
These terms are governed by Danish law. We encourage you to contact Donationstarter first if a dispute arises. Consumers retain the complaint and venue rights that follow from mandatory law.
If you are a consumer and we cannot resolve a complaint together, you may complain to the Danish Centre for Complaint Resolution (Center for Klageløsning) / the Danish Consumer Complaints Board, Nævnenes Hus, Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, www.naevneneshus.dk, subject to the applicable conditions.
